the sky turned dark blue, then purple, pink, and orange. surfers floated on their boards letting us in on their secret: a front-row sunset show which happens everyday but never ceases to move us and put us in a state of wonder. something magical was happening and it drew everyone out to stand and watch from the edge of the bluff above the ocean. there was pause in the air and it seemed time stopped for a moment. the beach goers and wave lovers stood still. we held our breath as the burning sun quickly fell into the water, turning the sky into a multi-toned blanket of muted sweet colors, followed by a few lucky birds crossing the sky like credits at the end of a show. it was one of my most special moments this year. the overwhelming gratitude to be documenting this day with my muses and mon amour by my side, and to witness a daily reminder of the powerful energy that makes our world warm and bright.
later, glasses and forks started to cling and ding. laughter, warmth, tears of joy and delicious plates of food. and when the night came, they danced under the string lights with waves crashing in the dark below.
